Elements and Performance Criteria

  1. Plan and prepare for establishing, implementing and maintaining operational management plans
  2. Identify and measure satisfaction levels of internal/external customers

  5. Develop operational plans to enable the achievement and improvement of strategic goals

Performance Evidence

Evidence is required to be collected that demonstrates a candidate’s competency in this unit. Evidence must be relevant to the roles within this sector’s work operations and satisfy all of the requirements of the performance criteria of this unit and include that the candidate:

locates and applies relevant legislation, documentation, policies and procedures

implements the requirements, procedures and techniques for the safe, effective and efficient establishing, implementing and maintaining of operational management plans including:

identifying the aspects of the site and their relationship to the environment

identifying possible reasons for failure in site performance

relating goals and actions to the strategic aims of the site

applying opportunities to achieving longer-term aims or needs of site

resolving ethical dilemmas based on reasoned approaches

producing a variety of solutions before making a decision

works effectively with others to establish, implement and maintain operational management plans that meets all the required outcomes including:

listening actively, asking questions, clarifying points and rephrasing others’ statements to check mutual understanding

adopting communication styles appropriate to listeners and situations

complying with written and verbal reporting requirements and procedures

communicating clearly and concisely with others to receive and clarify work instructions

communicating clearly and concisely with others to coordinate work activities

demonstrates completion of establishing, implementing and maintaining operational management plans that safely, effectively and efficiently meets all of the required outcomes on more than one (1) occasion including:

preparing strategies for influencing others

establishing networks to search for and gather relevant information

breaking processes down into tasks and work activities

identifying patterns or meaning from events and data

identifying and measuring satisfaction levels of internal/external customers

measuring current operational processes for quality and efficiency

interpreting strategic goals to determine operational implications

developing operational plans to enable the achievement and improvement of strategic goals
